Automation and Integration
Your charging, generation, storage and management systems come from different vendors. Integrate them as if they were one. Automate energy decisions. Control everything from one console.
Challenges in complex energy infrastructures
Why does your infrastructure with 5 different vendors behave like 5 isolated systems?
- Each vendor speaks only its own language: a charger doesn't know the battery is discharging, PV is going down, or demand is spiking
- You make slow, manual operational decisions because you lack unified real-time visibility into what's happening
- Each vendor software update breaks the homemade integration you had to build because nobody talked to each other
- When there's an incident, you don't know if it's the charger, the grid, the battery or the controller: blame gets lost at system boundaries
- Impossible to automate decisions: 'when demand spikes, redirect PV power to low-value loads' — impossible without common orchestration
How Grid Code solves it
We build a unified integration layer that translates between protocols, orchestrates automated decisions and maintains coherence even as vendors change.
Smart gateways and controllers
GEPO and other multi-protocol controllers (OCPP, Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, CAN) that translate in real-time. Compatible with any certified energy device.
Orchestration platform
IRIS centralizes decision logic. You can program rules: 'if demand >X, reduce load Y'; 'if battery <20%, don't charge'; 'if PV >Z, prioritize EV charging'.
Design and implementation support
It's not plug-and-play: every infrastructure is unique. Our team designs the integration strategy, implements gateways, tests rules in real scenarios.

Frequently asked questions
What does interoperability mean and why does it matter?
Interoperability = devices from different vendors understand a common language (e.g., OCPP). Without it, each vendor sells a closed solution. With it, your infrastructure is flexible and future-proof.
Can I integrate chargers from different brands into a single system?
Yes, if they're OCPP-compliant. IRIS + GEPO act as the central orchestrator. Reads state, coordinates power, manages users from one point. Non-OCPP brands need custom adapters.
How does OCPP work and what does it guarantee?
OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is an open standard. It guarantees that a charger can communicate with any OCPP platform (independent of brand). v2.0 adds V2G and better security.
What is a communication gateway and when do I need one?
Gateway: device that translates between protocols (e.g., Modbus to MQTT). Needed when you have legacy equipment that doesn't speak modern languages. GEPO is our primary gateway.
How does charging integrate with an existing BMS or SCADA?
PLUS connects via Modbus, BACnet, or REST API. Reads consumption, temperature, occupancy data from your existing BMS. Sends charging control commands. You don't need to replace anything.
What happens if a vendor's software update breaks compatibility?
That's why we insist on open standards (OCPP, Modbus, BACnet). If a vendor changes, the device keeps working against our platform. We update the adapter, not the entire system.
How is cybersecurity managed in connected infrastructures?
IRIS + gateways implement: mutual authentication, data encryption, access audit, network segmentation, regular security updates. NIS2-compatible.
